Meet Bianca Young, Magdala House’s New Director of Training

Bianca Young has always been a teacher.

Not just in the classroom, but in how she builds confidence in our team every day. Supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities requires more than compassion. It requires preparation. That is why training matters.

That is what she brings to Magdala House as our new Director of Training.

As we continue to grow, we are focused on doing it right. At Magdala House, we support adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities and individuals experiencing homelessness.

As our Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Program grows, our staff need to feel prepared, supported, and clear in their roles. That is where training matters.

With Bianca stepping into this role, training is now in-house, structured, and consistent. It gives our staff a stronger foundation and the support they need to do their job well as Magdala House continues to take shape here in St. Louis.

She will lead trainings such as CPR, crisis intervention, and required state training, while also helping staff grow professionally.

Her focus is simple:

  • make training clear
  • make it useful
  • make it something staff can apply every day

Because when staff feel confident, care becomes consistent.

And for the people we serve, consistency is not small. It creates stability. It builds trust. It allows people to feel safe in their environment.

For staff, it creates clarity instead of confusion.

This is how we make sure every staff member is prepared and every person we serve receives consistent care.

This is part of how Magdala House is growing with intention, strengthening our systems, and building more consistent care for the people we serve.
