Kauri Johnson learned how to care for people early.
As a teenager, she helped her mom with home health clients, even staying overnight when someone didn’t want to be alone.
That stayed with her.
Today, she brings that same level of care to Magdala House as a Registered Nurse.
As our organization grows, we are strengthening how healthcare is delivered across our Intellectual and Developmental Progams. With Kauri joining the team, Magdala House now has two Registered Nurses, strengthening healthcare support for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Kauri brings both experience and a clear focus:
creating stability in care.
“I see opportunities to bring consistency and make sure nothing is missed,” she shared.
For the people we serve, consistency is everything.
When care is inconsistent, things fall through.
When care is structured, people feel safe.
Kauri’s work helps create that structure across our programs in St. Louis.
It also supports staff. Clear systems and expectations help staff feel more confident in what they are doing every day.
Growth should not create confusion.
It should create clarity.
This work helps create the kind of stability our residents rely on every day.
This is part of how Magdala House is growing with intention, strengthening our systems, and building more consistent care for the people we serve.
